Types of Silk

Silk is woven into many structures, each with a distinct character. Silk twill has a fine diagonal rib that gives body, drape and a subtle sheen — the standard for luxury printed scarves. Charmeuse is a satin weave with a glossy face and matte back. Habotai is light and fluid, often used for linings and soft drapes. Crepe de chine has a gently textured surface. For a scarf worthy of a maison, twill is the weave of choice.
